Our Team

Amy is the director and co-owner of The Nest. A lifelong Pemberton local, Amy brings both her deep roots in the community and her passion for nature into her work each day. Her experience in environmental education, including years with Stewardship Pemberton’s nature camps, laid the foundation for her belief in outdoor, play-based learning.

Since completing her Early Childhood Education certification in 2022, Amy has stepped into leadership with warmth and vision. She supports the growth of both children and teachers—helping to cultivate an environment where curiosity, connection, and care thrive. Amy’s dedication and heart help shape The Nest into a vibrant, nurturing place for families.

Jonathan joined The Nest in early 2022 and has recently stepped into the role of co-owner alongside Amy. After several years as a stay-at-home dad during the pandemic, Jonathan made a bold career shift—driven by a desire to support families and contribute meaningfully to his community.

With a background rooted in reflection and observation, Jonathan brings a thoughtful, science-informed approach to early learning. He recognizes that each child is unique and responds with patience, care, and a deep commitment to meeting children where they are. Jonathan is also a mentor to our teaching team, helping to shape our educational practices with insight and empathy. His calm presence and genuine belief in children’s potential are at the heart of The Nest’s philosophy.

Petra was the very first team member to believe in the vision of The Nest, and her support during our inaugural year was truly invaluable. With many years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator, she continues to enrich our program in countless ways.

Petra thoughtfully mentors new teachers, generously sharing her wisdom and passion for early learning. She helps lead our days with warmth and intention, brings music into the classroom with her guitar and beautiful voice, and infuses every moment with her fun-loving, grounded presence. Petra also weaves a deep connection to nature into our daily programming. Her care and commitment help make The Nest feel like home

Juyeon is a gentle, thoughtful educator whose patience and kindness shine through in all she does. She forms deep, meaningful bonds with the children, and her nurturing presence is cherished by families, coworkers, and—most of all—the little ones in her care.

At The Nest, Juyeon brings her calm spirit and creative eye to every part of the day. She thoughtfully plans and prepares our art experiences, creates engaging learning provocations, and has a remarkable ability to see the world from a child’s perspective. Juyeon is not only a steady problem-solver, but a heart at the center of our community.

Since joining The Nest, Laura has drawn on her many years of early childhood experience and warm, steady presence to quickly become a core member of our team who feels as though she’s always been here.

Laura is a steady, reassuring presence in the classroom. She connects with children in a calm, joyful way and gently guides them to reflect on their actions. Her thoughtful approach fosters peer-to-peer conflict resolution and supports a peaceful, respectful learning environment. We’re so glad she’s part of our Nest family.

Siobhan is at the beginning of a new chapter, having recently stepped into early childhood education after becoming a parent herself. Currently completing her ECE certification, Siobhan brings a deep, intuitive care to her work, drawing on her lived experience as a mother and her natural ability to connect with young children.

Though new to the field, Siobhan has quickly embraced The Nest’s values and philosophy. Her eagerness to learn, thoughtful presence, and growing confidence in the classroom speak to her dedication and potential. We’re excited to walk alongside her on this journey and see the educator she continues to become.

Originally from France and now a proud Pemberton local of five years, Cam brings her vibrant energy, bilingual fluency in French and English, and genuine love for children to The Nest.

Cam has a wonderful way of making everyone—big and small—feel welcome and included. Whether she’s sharing a laugh, encouraging a shy friend, or diving into play, her warmth and enthusiasm shine through. Cam approaches each day with positivity and care. Her presence adds a bright, welcoming spirit to our community, and we’re so grateful to have her as part of The Nest family.

From time to time, you may see some new friendly faces at The Nest! We’re fortunate to have a group of wonderful, qualified educators who join us as teachers on call. These dedicated individuals help ensure consistency and care in our classrooms when our regular team members are away. While they may not be here every day, they are a valued part of our community and bring their own special energy and experience to support the children and the Nest team.
